I'm sure you'll have seen the recent offer for an extra 6 months when subscribing to the service.
I tried to take advantage of this but couldn't get it to accept a subscription.
I contacted TT Support who have informed me that I need to wait till my current subscription expires before I can subscribe again.
Now that seems useless to me it means that as an existing subscriber you'll never be able to take advantage of any of these offers. |

My current Map Updates expire in Oct 2011. I was able, recently, to take up the offer of the 18 months for the price of 12, without a hitch.
After reading your comments, I have emailed TomTom for confirmation that it will be an 18 month extension to my present Update Service. _________________ Richard

Yep I'm sure I've done this in the past.
If its true you can't subscribe again then none of the offers are any good to anybody who is a current subscriber.
Will be contacting TT again to see if I can get some response. |

I'm fairly sure that the extra 6 months offer expired on 16th August, just before the latest map came out, and that one was the last of my 4. _________________ TT Go Essential |

Yep the extra 6 month offer has indeed stopped now. But I was trying to use this whist it was still valid.
TT support are now escalating the issue, whatever that means. |

Had an email from TT today. This is the gist of it:
Quote: | Richard, I have checked your device account details and it could be seen that your current subscription for the MUS is valid till 24/10/2011.
The newly purchased service under the order number xxxxxxxxx is valid from 24/10/2011 till 24/04/2013 (1 year plus 6 months Bonus).
Therefore, the end date for your new contract is 24th April 2013. |
I placed the order on 07/08/2011, so still had 10 weeks to run. _________________ Richard

I can confirm Oldboy`s comment. I received a similar message from TomTom on 22nd July.
"I understand that you wish to know that if you purchase the new Map Update service (MUS) subscription would your current subscription be overridden by it.
I have checked your device account details and I can confirm that your current subscription will expire on 04/09/2011.
Now, if you wish to purchase the new MUS for your device you can proceed with the purchase as the newly purchased subscription would be starting from 05/09/2011.
Your current subscription will not get overridden by it". |

Just thought I'd bring this up to date.
After messaging back about this to TT support a guy called Nick sent a message about how to take a few steps to get the map to update and as my original contact was at the time the offer was in place the subscription will be extended to reflect the free addition 6 months.
So thanks to Nick whos prompt reply helped resolve this issue after the false bit of info early on.
Must say very pleased with the speed of response from TT support. |

Yep each time response was speedy, certainly within 24 hours.
Did point out that I was sure I'd added to subcription in the past and I knew other users had managed to do this recently. |
