|
|
Hi,
On my GArmin Nuvi 250, as I am driving, the icon which shows the position of the car seems to be always way behind with the actual position on the road.
For example, I am near the round about, the icon shows as if I have about 50 meteres to get to the round about, etc...
Can this be solved.
Thanks |

Which icon are you using? I find the Garmin icons are very accurate, but note that it's the tip of the icon that coincides with your position. Some of the after market ones seem to give the results you're complaining about. |

I am using the default icon which is like a blue arrow.
There must be something wrong with the navigation, right? |

Even on the best days satnav is only accurate to about 20 meters, then dont forget that there is a 1 to 2 second update time from the gps receiver. If you are moving when you see 50 meters error that would seem to me to be about normal. If you are stationary it might be a bit out but actually 50 meters is not bad accuracy.
The accuracy from side to side can appear better than that because Vehicle sat navs are set up to snap to the nearest road.

I have found the position to be within a car length so cannot complain at that. _________________ Square2024

Just a thought, aparantly if you have loads of POIs displayed, this will slow it up. Or is that TomTom? (I have neither ) |

I'd say not. Check it against a road junction that you have to turn into on your route and see where the icon is when you reach the junction, also what the nuvi is telling you to do.
If it gives you the warning for the turn at the right time then all is well. |
