|
|
My dad pointed these out to me:
1) coming down Liberton Brae it never tells you to turn left onto Mayfield Road. I went into map corrections and it has that turn blocked for some strange reason. Easy to unblock.
2) same junction, coming along Liberton Road it never tells you to turn left onto Kirk Brae. Same reason as before, and easy to unblock.
3) going along Home Street towards Tollcross, it allows you to turn right onto Brougham Street at the Tollcross junction. This is a no right turn and should be blocked.
These errors are in the 855 maps and the current 870 maps. |

add also the turn from Lothian Road southbound into Fountainbridge - right turn has been prohibited on all map versions up till now - I have not checked it on 8.70 (and daughter currently has satnav). |

Another one:
The roundabout at Kinnaird Park next to the Mcdonalds, the 2 roads going either side of McDonalds are set to one way and going off the roundabout onto either of these roads is blocked. Both should be 2 way so unblock both of them. |

Going north along Earl Grey Street TomTom allows a left turn onto Fountainbridge which is prohibited.
***Actually this is fixed in the latest maps***

I know, I think this thread is quite useful though to share errors. |

But is that not what Mapshare is for? |

I think perhaps this is a sign of the frustration - I have reported some of these errors in 2008 - the status is still showing as - "we see the problem, we are working on the problem"...but it is still there.
Every map release I change these in Mapshare - and it still needs to be changed next release. |

That's why this thread is good for sharing errors. |

One more I found today:
Smithfield Street is blocked at The gorgie Road end, you cant turn onto it from Gorgie Road and you cant turn onto Gorgie Road from Smithfield Street.
TomTom told me to turn onto Smithfield Street from Gorgie Road. |

Sharing between you and one other member?
Methinks t'would be better if you subscribed to the pgpsw speed camera database and started making submissions to those - there are several thousand members interested. _________________ Dennis

To be honest I try to drive at the speed limit. One day I'm sure I will get round to subscribing but I just rely on the tomtom cameras just now... |

I don't think that the words 'rely' and 'TT cameras' fit comfortably in the same sentence. |

To quote me old mate Brucie "What do points make"?
Short memory or what?
Think I might subscribe to the speed cameras, mccririck, in March wrote: |
TomTom's own SpeedCams are terrible! I drove from Edinburgh to Stoke last week and on the many 70mph roads it was telling me there was 40mph speed cameras. Also most of them actually didnt have cameras there at all. And I cant even edit them because for some stupid reason the Easymenu system doesnt allow it!
TomTom this is CRAP! |
I mean, The Weekly POI Challenge was OK for the two weeks it lasted, but you could contribute to the site far better by getting into the camera reporting situation. _________________ Dennis
