Where do I find a 4GB sd card for my nuvi 250 sat nav device please?
I have checked amazon and ebay but they only have 2GB sd cards.
Thanks |

Are you sure? I have just done a search in Amazon.co.uk for 4GB SD card and come up 32,000 results, with 4GB cards starting at about £5!! You could also try play.com _________________ Peter

Are you attempting to buy a card with maps pre-installed, or do you want to buy a blank card to put downloaded maps on? If it is the latter then any 4GB SD card will work - but check whether it needs full sized or micro. And if you search with "Garmin" included you will see lots of vendors who say their cards work with Garmin, although, as I say, they all should. _________________ Peter

Hang on though.....
I very much suspect that all the 4GB cards Peter has found are the newer technology "SDHC" cards, NOT ordinary SD cards.
Since the 250 is an old model, it *might* not be compatible with the SDHC format (lots of old TomTom models aren't).
Garmin tech support will be able to tell you if your model is compatible with SDHC cards. I tried a quick Google search but got conflicting opinions.
Normal SD cards are usually only available upto 2GB.
There certainly WERE a couple of brands which made 4GB SD cards But as SDHC has become more the norm, they might have stopped making these "oddities".
Try searching for the "Trancend" or "Topram" brand. _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |
