|
|
I noticed a prompt today for this (though it seems rather odd to release updates near a weekend when support isn't available).
The MyTomTom app pop-up said that the changes were listed at http://uk.support.tomtom.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/6141/?locale=en_GB and which says:
"Improves map installation process"
So I decided to try it - the download was about 75MB or similar and it seemed to start OK. Then at about 60% done I got the dreaded "there is something wrong with your device"! :-(
The web page showed that the download continued however.
The MyTomTom applet showed a "communication failure with your TT 1000" error still.
At 99% download, it stopped for a long while, so eventually I unplugged the TT and reconnected - then after some web page refreshes, it started to install. Then it reported "finished" and TT restarted.
The TT version is now reported as App 10.115.662791.74. Not quite 10.541 originally reported but I guess there is some sort of dual version numbering going on ...
I already updated my maps when I first got the device (and that was a very painful experience) so I'm not sure I'll see any other bug fixes. |

Assumed this was for the new Traffic updates. _________________ GO 620, Tomtom Android EU,

So is it v10.541 or v10.115 ?
Don't think it can be both for the Go1000.... _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

Blimey a weekend download. Either times are tough, or they forgot about the 1xxx/Via series for the HD traffic upgrade and have had to put in some over-time. _________________ Mike R [aka Wyvern46]

The update link http://uk.support.tomtom.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/6141/?locale=en_GB lists this particular version as two apparently equivalent versions:
Version 10.115 (10.541)
(GO 1000 series, Via series)
* Improves map installation process
No idea why there are dual version numbers - maybe it's dual platforms? Talk about making things more complicated! Maybe it's that intern developer again ...
Also there's no ref to any HD Traffic upgrades, whatever those are. |

Good question Andy - could it be that the GO1000 & the Via have different app numbers? Let us know if you find out.. _________________ Gee-Pee

If I learn anything I'll certainly pass it on!
Trouble is, I'm out of the loop for normal software updates at the moment. _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

In TT's list of navcores it says:
10.115 (10.541)
Hesitate to interpret that... _________________ Mike R [aka Wyvern46]
