Back in my days, when the man with the red flag was done away with, we had sets of traffic lights timed so that you could only get through a sequence of them if you stayed at the right speed. Before Swindon's time I suppose, so they have to come up with some very expensive method of doing the same thing. _________________ Dennis

That was before the councils across the UK started to plan out traffic. Now they appear more interested in making it as difficult as possible to drive anywhere. Re sequencing traffic lights to halt the flow of traffic. Increasing pedestrian time for crossing where no one ever crosses. Reducing roads to one lane in each direction with lots of white paint. Bus lanes that are never used. Reduced speed limits on major roads. Parking spaces too small for cars. I am sure there are more things I could list. |

I'm sure the A4 through Slough used to be like this, if you drove at between 27-30mph you could get all the lights at green. |

I've seen these in Portugal. Speed up to the lights and they go red.
Probably doesn't matter that much in London because they are always bloody red anyway. _________________ Gone fishing! |
