|
|
Just installed the updated v870 map on my GO950Live - took forever to DL and install W & CE Map (1hr 40min for download and further 21 mins for install).
Device is VERY slow since the update and this am have noticed that the POI icon for a set of POIs that I wrote and installed myself no longer is visible against the individual POIs - the default red box is shown instead. I have checked the bmp files using Explorer and they are still there. The POI set is installed on my GO1000Live and works perfectly - so what has happened
Suggestions as to how I should get the POI icons back would be appreciated. Reinstall the whole set ? _________________ Gee-Pee

A quick, stab-in-the-dark, answer would be to try a Reset. _________________ Richard

Sensible suggestion, Richard - did try that....and it keeps resetting itself too many times for my liking Perhaps a factory reset might help, but I am reluctant as it puts me to too much work. _________________ Gee-Pee

What's the size of the .bmp, Gee-Pee? 22x22? 24x24?
Maybe the app on that model is more finicky about the appropriate .bmp size. _________________ David |

Hi David. It's 22 X 22. Has been working perfectly for about a year since installation. I think I will just try to re-install and see what has happened, although that should not work, as the bmp file seems to be OK within the device when I look via Explorer. _________________ Gee-Pee

Problem sorted. I don't know how this happened but I found that the POI icon for the POI set had migrated itself into the N American map folder whilst the ov2 file was in the Europe folder. Cannot imagine how that happened, but it must have been me......... Don't tell anyone
Found this after doing a factory reset.
But, at least I can sleep tonight. _________________ Gee-Pee
