|

I logged on to the Android Marketplace yesterday to be told there was an upgrade available for Aura. Evidently a major one and some mention of updating speed limits so I hoped that the ETA issue was solved.
However after a download I discover that I have to re-download all my maps and re-register. In fact even though it says it has accepted the registration of all the maps I have it is still asking for another (unknown) licence number.
So don't try this lightly unless you have an unlimited data tariff or can get the maps through free WiFi.
A number of features have been added and I'm sure that is good but I now find the menus more cluttered and confusing which does not seem good for an in car navigation system.
Also it has not improved the ETA estimate. The first route I checked it expected me to drive at a nearly constant 60 mph through narrow country lanes and villages. I have complained (again) to Sygic who had told me it was being worked on and to await notification of a major upgrade. Lets just hope that they do sort it soon but I'm not at all hopeful. There seems more focus on bells and whistles than basic functionality. _________________ LostMike

I wouldn't attempt a map download over anything but a fast stable WiFi connection. Surprised it even allows you to try.
Is this the app merge that sees Mobile Maps and Aura become one product? _________________ Darren Griffin |

Yes, it is. The iPhone versions have been appearing in AppStore recently too.

Indeed, downloaded mine a few days back. Glad to see they have made some concessions to Mobile Maps app but it's still to much like Aura for my liking. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Do you have any idea please when us Sygic MM10 users are going to be offered the free upgrade that has been talked about? I have not had an email yet from them. _________________ Peter

Not sure to be honest. Tey said people would be emailed when the time came. Their page at http://www.sygic.com/auramigration had more information and contact emails for queries but it seems to have been removed.
I'll try to find out.
