Im am having a weird problem with my 1000 , I have the lastest maps and upto date software. What is happening is that where a road was closed a few days ago the unit is still reporting it and is trying to divert me around it, the thing is it seems to have embedded itself in the map as even when the unit is not connected to traffic (where there is no Vodafone signal) it still says that the road is closed.
This morning it said the A50 around the Burton turn going towards the m6 that this this was closed and has been showing this for 3 weeks, and the diversion route is 25 miles around, also that the a5000 around the Stoke turning is closed, and also that the m62 which is closed tonight between junction 11 and 12 , but its reporting these problems all the time, I have reset the unit and it still shows them, any help would be good - thanx. |

Firstly reset the device by pressing and holding down the on/ off button until the device restarts with a drum roll (typically around 20 seconds) if this doesn't clear the fault try 0845 161 0009 give TT CS a ring and see what they have to say about it - Mike
PS resetting the device won't lose any of your settings etc |

So it looks like the errors could have come from a dodgy MapShare correction rather than Live Traffic (or a temporary one that they have accidentally flagged as permanent).

Could you possibly give some Lat/Long coordinates for the closed roads so some others of us can check them on our machines?
It takes much longer to find out where you mean from descriptions... they make perfect sense to someone who knows the area well, but to a stranger things like "A50 around the Burton turn going towards the m6" are quite hard to find when you cannot search for road numbers on the TomTom.
You can switch the Lat/Long display on in the "View Map" screen by tapping the "options" button at the bottom and then selecting "Advanced".
The numbers always relate to where the blue cursor is sitting. |
