I run the newer but unreleased 9.120 navcore. Should this be included or answered as me running 9.058 on my 950?

There would need to be options for earlier v9 versions on each model too.
Getting to be more categories than people replying! |

It would be interesting to know the answer anyway, and in particular if you are original SIM or new. If it is fixed for originals in this beta, it gives us hope. |

My signature gives the full details but basically I'm using a 940 with 9.058, and the SIM model is 00.01.04.
From switch on in a good reception area at 17:50ish (so busy traffic time?) I achieved the following:
Switch on to GPS lock - virtually instantaneous
Switch on to Traffic bar appearing - 2 mins 45 secs
Switch on to Traffic info obtained - 4 mins 30 secs
I suppose that's OK if you have to defrost the windows first! _________________ Mike

What really wound me up, was what happened if my 540 rebooted itself during the journey. After restarting it wouldn't have the HD traffic available for several mins, so it would replan the route....taking me straight back into the traffic it was previously trying to avoid! By the time the Traffic info was available there was a good chance I would be stuck in a jam
Switching back to 8.371 was the cure for me. |

Told a porkie in the survey. I've found that the 550 + 9.058 always takes 30 sec to get a traffic bar, but then at busy times a further 2m 30s to connect, but at quieter times takes only a further 60s to connect. _________________ Mike R [aka Wyvern46]

How are you getting on with 9.120? I have been using for a while and have found the traffic takes ages to connect just lately. Was quite prompt at first but not as fast as I found 9.026. |

When recently in the Netherlands I noticed my 740 got traffic in about 20 seconds instead of about three minutes in the UK. |

Had a shock this morning, my 940 had the live traffic data downloaded in about 20 seconds of turning on (I didn't even have time to back off the drive!) instead of the usual 3+ minutes.
Mind you, it compensated for that this evening by not getting any traffic during the 30 minute drive home |

Just done a test on my 740 live from switch on to traffic showing with 9.058 software & 865 map Uk it was 2 mins 30secs. On micro SD card
I then used the same map on ininternal memory with version 814.1237 software and the traffic was up and running in 29 seconds.
I also noticed that with the newer maps the display is not as smooth, I did a tst on an old backup of version 7 software and map using a sd card and the map display was a lot smoother.
