|
|
Hey all
Today my live services packed up on my 950, i just get the signal icon in the bottom left of the screen, the one that looks like a wind screen wiper.
Anyway checked in status-version-network and it states "NOT CONNECTED" and no other info on screen. Does this mean its not detecting my SIM card??
Strangly if i connect it to Home and use "operate my go" then the four info fields are present and have the information in them, ie
MCC/MNC:
SIM ID:
IMEI:
Model:
Any ideas |

Tried a 20-second power button reset?
Next, tried a Return to Factory Settings from the menu? |

Tried the reset button to no avail.
Doing the Factory reset is a pain in the rear, as i use text to speach for speed camera alerts. is there a way to save this text first rather than having to type the lot back in. |

Yes - back up MapSettings.cfg from your named map folder. |

Are you sure that holds the text to speak for pocketgpsworlds camera database. Im sure ive done a factoty reset before then restored this file and ive had to retype it all in again. Oh well will do it no other choice.
If this doesnt work any other suggestions. Apart from throw it out the window |

It's been mentioned dozens of times before in numerous threads. It holds the data that connects the ov2 files to the sound files. Have a look at any thread regarding updating maps on a TomTom. |

Just done factory reset restored "mapsetting.cfg" and as you say it has kep the info, however still no info in my network.
If i turn the 950 on near my PC i usually get that noise over the speakers, as if a text or phone call is coming through on a mobile, i think its the sim card searching but im not getting that happen now. |

You could try removing/refitting the sim card which is in the bottom under th "C €" bit of the sticky label. |

Removed and replaced the SIM card, but still not working. Went to "change preferences-my account" and it diplays a red screen indicating "error code 1001" and that there is a problem with my SIM and to contact customer services.
Have done that so will wait weeks for them to reply with some useless bit of info no doubt |

I may have got mixed up on the error codes but if you can see the four bits of network information and get error 1001, I think that is where TomTom (or Vodaphone) have blocked or cancelled the network account. I had that on my very first Go940 which I returned. _________________ Drivelux |

Just going to say that, plus, did you THEN try another 20-30 secs power button press again? |

I can only see the four bits of data in Home using "operate my go". Once ive disconnected from Home it no longer shows there. strange thing is when im connected to home i get the blue traffic bar indicating accidents and everything, but not when its in the car. No idea whats going on at all. |

Using "Operate my Go" does not connect using the SIM but emulates it through the network. _________________ Drivelux |

Is there anyway to test either the tomtom or the SIM. I mean plug the SIM card into my phone or put my phone SIM into the Tom. Not sure what id expect to see if i did |
