We DO use IMEI but in a hashed form along with some other stuff. Some people simply wouldn't want to give out the IMEI in plain text for security reasons I presume.
Also, not all Android devices will have telephony therefore no IMEI. CDMA devices don't have IMEI numbers either.

Hello again. Once more your system thinks that I have too many devices registered. Could you please reset my account so that I can register again after this ROM upgrade? I have just changed my ROM to the new Gingerbread ROM (2.3) and the device ID has clearly changed again.
Regards

I was about to point you towards the support ticket system but see you have submitted one there also. No need to post here as well in that case, just adds one more thing for me to read!
Account reset as per my reply to your ticket. _________________ Darren Griffin |

An interesting read as I am also a serial ROM flasher
My questions follows on, but as I have an HTC HD2 (I know its a window phone) but run a Desire HD Coredroid ROM, will my device ID change every time, or is this a suck it and see scenario |

It seems that more suffer than don't. But it only takes a few minutes to ask for a reset when you come up against the three device limit and hopefully we'll have the issue resolved soon. _________________ Darren Griffin |
