Did you create a separate account for each device? _________________ Gee-Pee

Yes I did I used her account on her unit, and it all transferred across, we kept getting the boot up screen and the 1000 kept rebooting, I finally got through to their cs team, and he said he was corcerned and it had something to do with the serial number on the unit ?
They said I could get the unit replaced, but I wonder what he meant by the serial number ? |

MyTT recognises the serial number of each device. You both have different devices/serial numbers (see the silver tab on the bottom of the unit).
PS/Edit - The serial number is also shown in the TTHome web page URL when the unit is connected.
As MaFt said (above) Quote: | the updates are being rolled out gradually. not all the devices will get the update straight away | .
I guess, in this case, you will have to wait a little longer until that serial number is allocated the update. There are still a lot of buyers waiting for their turn. _________________ Gee-Pee

Who knows. They so talk a load of BS at first line support at times.
They should be able to force an update if required but have you tried the forced reboot? Hold down power until you hear the drums sound? _________________ Darren Griffin |

Indeed. The fact that 1005 models don't seem to have the update yet though was confirmed by second line together with the information that it should be available some time on Friday. At least in my case first line didn't guess or just say what I wanted to hear. They went away to check so hopefully this is correct information. |

Interesting to note that TT are now publishing news updates on their Facebook site....this from my wife's Facebook page just now.
Quote: | UPDATE: TomTom can confirm that an update is now available for all MyTomTom users on our newer devices (eg GO LIVE 1000/05 and Via) which means users can now add 3rd party POI eg 3rd party speedcams or any other .OV2 files
Stay tuned, and we will continue to let you know as soon as new updates become available... |

Comments as to what exactly? We've announced that this is being rolled out but it's so clunky as to be almost unusable. And we have told them so. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Ahh
I know they're trying all manner of outlets, they have a Twitter feed as well. I see some old adversaries from our forums have now tipped up there as well! _________________ Darren Griffin |

They have just updated that comment..
Quote: | To clarify; 3rd party POI functionalty is currently available for a limited number of GO LIVE 1000/05 and Via users users. TomTom is working on a solution to provide this functionality for all user of these devices - continuing to share updates as they become available... |

The part of that announcement that I'm impressed with is:
"To clarify; 3rd party POI functionalty is currently available for a limited number of GO LIVE 1000/05 and Via users users. TomTom is working on a solution to provide this functionality for all user of these devices - continuing to share updates as they become available..."
What the hell do they mean by that, "..working on a solution" - after all these months since product launch and finally one of the updates that people are waiting for, and now they think it's time to work on a deployment method!. |

Just received my new GO 1000 EU today, but there is no update for me.
Looks like I have to wait until whenever it arrives. _________________ GO 620, Tomtom Android EU,
