|
|
I've recently purchased a iPAQ 2210 Pocket PC, TomTom Navigator 3 (wired GPS reciever) and Car Kit bundle. It says it comes with maps of GB and major roads of Europe. However after doing some resarch it appears that this will be of no use to me in Ireland and Northern Ireland as TomTom Navigator 3's maps don't cover much in Ireland and there are no extra maps available for Ireland which I'm aware of
I don't really want to be in a position of having to purchase extra hardware in order for this setup to work so does anyone know of any other software/maps that will work with the iPAQ and GPS reciever and give me the best possible coverage in Ireland?
Any help/advice much appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Gavin |

I took the UK version over to Northern Ireland last month and found that it basically only has A-roads on it and not B roads.
TomTom call it a "major roads" map.
It might not be TomTom's problem, as they use one of only two industry-standard mapping organisations who supply the maps to the sat-nav software companies.... |

Has anyone any update on ths toic?
I am really p***ed of about this. How can they say that the etra map bundle of 'Western Europe' does not include the most westerly country in Europe? That was one reason why I bough it. Didn't read the exact coverage of course!
Just assumed it was there. Well assume certainly mad an ass of me, dunno about u.
