Hi All.. hope everyone is well..
This may have been asked before but a friend of mine has an XL that has a duff battery now.. lasts a few mins only.. Is it possible to change the battery? and if so, what sort of job is it.. i am pretty handy and used to taking things apart and also useful with a soldering iron..
any thoughts please..
Cheers.. Steve.. Tigerbear |

Is it an XL or the earlier One XL as that makes quite a difference? - Mike |

Hi Mike
its a recent XL but out of warranty I believe.. I have seen the thread with picorials now.. seems a bit fiddly with a large scope for error

The most difficult part is removing the part number label from the base to get at the screws after that its all rather easy.
Leave the soldering iron in its box though as thats not needed - Mike |

if you're not brave enough try these http://satnavrepairservice.com/ very good service.
They were recommended on here, cost me £26 for a GO 520 and took 5 days from posting. |
