hi
out of interest i just viewed your video tutorial on installing the pwgps camera database to a tomtom device.
i have subscribed to this for years but i have always downloaded the zip file from you and then unzipped it before copying and pasting into my map folder on the tomtom.
i notice on your tutorial that you do not unzip the download before copying and pasting into the map folder, so my question is, have i been doing this wrong all this time or is it just unnecessary to unzip first?
many thanks. |

In the video the contents are copied from the zip file to the device. You cannot install the database with the files still in the zip file.
You can unzip and then copy to the device or just copy the files out of the zip file straight to the device. It's the same difference.
If its been working for you all this time you can't be doing it wrong!!!

To put it another way. Imagine you come home from the shops with a bag full of shopping. The way you have been doing it is to unpack the bags onto your kitchen table and then move the items to the cupboards. In the video the items are moved straight from the bags to the cupboards in one go. The bags are still unpacked and the result is the same. |

Both methods do unzip the files but the one in the video does it "on the fly" and in one step rather than two. |

I put the bags into the cupboard & then 'unzip to here' - having tried all the permutations over the years I find this the simplest method, but each to their own!! |
