|
|
I have a directory on my laptop named Garmin POIs which contains two folders named FloridaHoliday2011 and MyPois.
The two folders contain Garmin compatible POIs in csv format and the associated bmp files. The POIs are all read correctly in PoiEdit as Garmin csv POIs.
I then used the PoiLoader to transfer these to the Garmin. In the POI folder I find a new file called poi.gpi which I renamed to MyPOIs.
After safely disconnecting the Garmin from the laptop I switch it on and select GoTo Points of Interest. There is a list of POI categories but I cannot find the ones I have just added.
The Florida POIs are naturally all a long distance from where I am now but many of the others are quite local.
Why cannot I see them and what have I done wrong? _________________ David

You will find the under Custom POIs if loaded correctly.
How many POIs did POILoader report it had loaded? |

Your quite correct. This is what I have been doing.
I am new to garmin, quite old and relying on my mrmory is not always a good idea, _________________ David

I am now in Longboat Key, Florida and I am sitting in a superb appartment overlooking a wild(ish) expanse of inlets covered in a wide range of birds. The weather is good and everything should be fine.
The downside........I have an upper respiratory infection leaving me with bunged up ears, sore throat and some considerable pain. It should be better just as I come home!
Whilst having little to do but endlessly trying to find one of the 5000 TV stations even remotely worth watching, read books, eat or sleep I decided to give the 1695 a thorogh going over and I found my "lost" POIs.
Where...under "Points of Interest".... Nooooooo
It'so logical
"Where To?" ... "Extras" ... "Custom POIs"
Obvious all the time! _________________ David
