I have today received a new (?) Nulink 1695 from Amazon and I have just got round to registering it.
As the instructions from Garmin were non existant I did it by trial and error.
I am now told by Mygarmin that the device cannot be registered as it is already registered to someone else.
I have had no success phoning Garmin or finding a number to phone Amazon.
Can anyone give me asny help with this problem? _________________ David

So, either Garmin's system is cocked-up or Amazon sold you a customer return? The first option is the most likely
(I don't suppose that you accidentally succeeded in registering the unit, during your trialling and erroring? - and you are the somebody else??)
Garmin's freefone number is: 0808 238 0000 - I don't know what hours they're keeping at the moment though.
If they won't/can't sort it out, you'll presumably have to return it to Amazon for a unit that's not already registered...

I spoke to a rather nice young lady on the Garmin Help Line and she told me that the 1695 was registered to me but in an account different from the one I had recently used.
She told me the username and reset the password so all is OK now. _________________ David

That was very nice of her. They are not bad to talk to if you can get them on the phone.

I seemed to have counted my chickens before they were hatched.
When on the Garmin website everything is fine, the 1695 is recognised, appears as registered, all my services are there and downloads take place as expected.
BUT........ the 1695 (Tools - My Garmin) reports to me that it is not registered.
Notified Garmin and awaiting a reply.
At present on holiday in Florida, well it will be a holiday when I recover from my "upper respiratory infection.
The visit to the clinic, the consultation and the drugs cost just shy of $300.
It makes the UK seem a much better place to live than it has seemed of late.
Now I am getting the hang of the 1695 and I have found my "lost" POIs I am hoping I will get a chance to make use of it. _________________ David

Speedy recovery, mate. Sounds like you've been in the wars. |
