|
|
Hi Guys
Looking for a bit of help
I bought Sygics Mobile 10 for use on my Nokia N8, it was installed on the 4gb MicroSD card and worked well, I then got a 32gb MicroSD card and re-installed to app onto the new card. Now it will not accept my registration code for the new instalation giving an error message about the device code already being used by another device.
How do I re-install it on the new drive.
Thanks
Paul |

You will have to contact Sygic as they use the memory cards secure ID as part of the application/ map activation process, if you change the memory card a new code will have to be generated - Mike |

Thanks mike, what a pain that will be as I doubt I will get a reply before next year now, suppose I will have to get used to Nokias own satnav software now.

I had the same problem and Sygic Support were very good - try emailing them. When you first register Mobile Maps it locks it to the SD card it is first on. The advantage with that is that you can move the SD card to a new (or 2nd) phone no problem. The disadvantage is that you need to get Sygic to reregister the new card _________________ Peter

Still awaiting a reply from Sygic, so for the moment I am back on the 4gb card and all is well, the 32gb also went back for a refund as it turned out it was counterfit, should have know better though buying it on eBay "The Pirates Market place" and also paying £25 for a 32gb SanDisk with a list price of £149 should have been another hint. Still the seller did give me my money back without any argument.

Just wondering re the reg code
How is this locked to the card when the code is generated when the software is bought and paid for and before it is installed on the device, is it done by some sort of online activity after its all installed.

The 16 character code that you get when you buy or download the product is the product code. When you register the product (which you have to do before it will work) it uses a Device Code, which is unique to each SD card. If you use another SD card it has a different code, and the software realises that and won't work.
Or something like that ....... _________________ Peter
