|
|
Just got a 1000 at the weekend. Connected it up and will not connect. Well for the first time It now says connected and a blue download arrow. All it says on the computer is "Busy Please keep your navigation device connected" and stays there. Any ideas? |

Have you read the review and all the other comments on the site? _________________ Dennis

Yes i did. Didn't get a good review. I must say though i quite like it. Seems to be a lot faster for live services from startup. Just came off phone from TomTom customer support seems the error message is normal. It should actually say no updates. They are trying to get the developer's to change it.
It will have have its first run out from Cramlington to Castleford and Leeds tomorrow. Lets see how it behaves. |

Hmm. My impression from reading some comments is that the error message really should say "This doesn't work" as opposed to "There are no updates". _________________ Dennis

Quite right.
Most Go1000s have v850 or v855 maps. We all know v860 maps are available, but they have no working mechanism to provide/download them for the 1000 yet. |

Have there been any updates of any kind for the 1000/5? The best advice would seem to be not to connect it to MyTomtom until the support pages on TT website indicate that it is working as advertised. Even better advice is to take it back and get a refund. _________________ Mike R [aka Wyvern46]

I would stick with it because I would prefer a unit that works faultlessly and is the best sat nav out there (currently) and it is just the poor update software (which will itself be released in a functioning service very soon) rather than one of the many units that simply don't cut it in use, yet have fully functioning PC software to update a unit that has many more flaws in its day to day use
You are after all buying the unit, not the PC interface (I accept both should work) _________________ TomTom Go Live 6100, 600

The GO 100x is far from faultless! There are many bugs and the lack of a working update system at launch, on a device that is entirely dependent on that system for updates is nothing short of ridiculous.
The comment from TT CS is laughable. TomTom know full well that MyTomTom is a mess. I can't even say it's broke because it would have to have worked first to be broken. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Bugs? What are these Darren - leaving the PC / Web based software aside, as I said in my post? Don't think you have mentioned any previously? Update us, let us know... _________________ TomTom Go Live 6100, 600

Is anyone here getting re-booting problems on the Go1000?
There have been a flurry of reports recently about it on other user-forums. |

Have you taken a backup copy of it yet? Y'know, the sort of thing I've got for all my devices so that I can restore them if they fall over? _________________ Dennis
