Garmin Zumo 660 Map problems

I bought a garmin zumo 660 on saturday just gone so I can use it on my bike and in the car and from the reviews I`d seen it looked and sounded like a top sat nav. I got the uk & full europe maps pre installed on it.

I used it for a few days without any problems.

I then decided to go to garmin website to try and update it, it downloaded and installed the software on the pc needed for the map updates.

It then unpacked the software ready for to install on to the sat nav, it started the install, 20 mins later I get this error:


and the programme just closes down. I tried it a few times and got the same problem, I reinstalled all the garmin software and same problem.

When I turned the unit on, it starts fine, the menus and icons all work. When I click view map is just shows the car icon with no map. When I select " where to ? " where you would enter a post code it just says no data avalible.

I have contacted garmin via email but they seem to take for ever to get back to me, any ideas? It seem ths maps need to be reinstalled but being as they were preloaded on the unit I have no idea how to go about it.

Chances are the postcode file is not on there.
