Apparently it's a software issue - a post in another forum states that it's an error in MapSource 6.16.2 (he'd got lots of the number 71 over roads somewhere in the US). It claims that changing the depth setting in preferences from feet to meters or fathoms changes the values displayed on the roads. However I can't reproduce the effect with my own MapSource 6.16.2 / CN 2011-20 setup. _________________ J D Gwinnell

New version of MapSource (6.16.3) apparently sorts it out. _________________ J D Gwinnell

....alternatively, delete the existing contents of the folder C:\ Documents and Settings \ your profile name \ Application Data \ GARMIN \ MapSource \ TileCache.
(You may need to View...Show hidden files & folders first).
That did it for me.
