Either - it's entirely up to you as they both work equally well. The consolidated download will warn you that there's a camera ahead, and will tell you what type of camera it is (fixed, mobile, SPECS, red-light).
The speed-zoned version contains exactly the same data, but also tells you the speed limit of the camera. There are more files in this version, so it takes a little more setting up (first-time only). _________________ Garmin DriveSmart 50 LMT-D |

Think this may be down to personal prefs in the end and what you want from your system.
I have always used the Speed Zoned because it gives you the individual speed of each camera when warned. That's what I want to know.
There are probably going to be just as many who will say they don't need that and settle for the Consolidated version. _________________ Triumph Tbird 1700. And now a Bonnie T100. |

As for the second part of your question, they will both work with the 44x44 icons, but don't expect to see anything larger on screen.
As you know, when the TomTom warns of a Camera (or any POI) it shows the icon on the location in the road and also flashes it in the top left corner.
On old software, that one in the top corner was twice the size but could look "blocky" as they used the normal sized icons and just enlarged them.
Then the double sized "x2" icons were introduced which improved the quality of the display (because they were higher resolution), but they didn't make it any bigger (although there was a 48x48 that DID look a bit bigger.
However, when v9 software was introduced, TT messed with the way the software used the icons and put them inside a fancy box, while actually making them display SMALLER.
What you see is what you get and using larger icons now makes no difference to the size you see on screen. |
