|

When I'm in "Browse Map", I can tap the screen and a street name pops up with a blue arrow. Tapping the blue arrow goes to a page called "Cursor Position". One of the options is "Set marker position". I tapped it and a green circle with a little flag appears on the map.
How can I delete the marker? It gets in the way. And it has that annoying little green direction arrow at the edge of the screen all the time.
And what's the point of it? You can't Navigate to it....... _________________ TTGO 700 (dead)

It's the Tomtom Western Europe Map.
Just updated to v1.5.
When it first appeared on the earlier version I set the marker to the far end of Portugal and forgot it. I did that because if the marker was too close a small green rectangle appeared at the side of the map telling you which direction it was and how far.
However, now I have upgraded, the little green rectangle is there all the time, regardless of how far away the marker is set. _________________ TTGO 700 (dead)

I noticed the same thing on my 740 the other day. What happens if you tap or double tap the round green icon? |

Absolutely nothing at all!!
If I tap on it, I get the label with the blue arrow that leads to the "Cursor Position" page. This has the "Set Marker Position". Tapping that does nothing either. I'd tried it before in the hope it would toggle to "Remove Position Marker", but it doesn't. _________________ TTGO 700 (dead)

Drag the marker until it sits on top of its flag on the map then it will disapear assuming it works in the same way as the PND units - Mike |

I discovered this on my PND - GO550 - only because I looked for it having read this topic.
I (eventually) went for Browse map, Options, Advanced and unchecked Markers and it has gone away. Ignorance is bliss, I don't understand what I've done! _________________ Dennis

Putting the marker on the flag doesn't work.
iPhone doesn't have the same menus, so I can't do the Options/Advanced method.
Looks like I'm stuck with it. _________________ TTGO 700 (dead)

Assuming it's the same as the PND version, drag the map away from your home location then tap the home arrow so the house is in the middle of the screen. If you then set the marker at that location, it should disappear. _________________ Gerry
