Hi
I just bought another ipaq, mainly for my wife to use. Can I install my copy of Tomtom Nav to this one, as well as using it on mine?
Cheers

Legally you are not supposed to have it installed onto two devices at any one time, and this is detailed in the licensing agreement. However if you have upgrade to a later device and have uninstalled it on your original device, this is okay and is covered under the licensing agreement. |

You can activate it twice (the 2nd time a week after the 1st) and then again every 6 months, I believe.
I don't know if that's a legally licensed copy, though. Then again, if TomTom provide you with the mechanism for installing and activating it on two separate systems then they shouldn't complain if people do!
Visit www.ttcode.com for activation codes etc. |

The last time I looked it was illegal according to the license agreement. You are only allowed to install and activate it on one Pocket PC at anyone time. That means it's illegal to install it on two at the same time, but legal if you uninstall it off your old Pocket PC first.
Just because you can do something, doesn't mean it's legal. I'd also add the note that TomTom are watching and reading these forums on a regular basis! |
