Do you know different ? |
Considering any other TomTom device that is up to date is running version 855 maps the v850 maps are around four months old by now, that said they "might" be the latest map for the Go-1000 and in the abscence of any method to update them for the time being I guess there is little you can do - Mike |

And also the database for the speedcams does not have any mobile cams on it only the fixed ones. The person I spoke to from Tom Tom said they were on there which is wrong and he also said they could be updated over the air .
You really do miss the database from here. they told me the 1000 will be sorted within 8 weeks , think they are telling everyone this .
My software verion is a month old for the device. I tried it on my mac today, its even worst than a windows pc as it just does not want to know when connecting to Home 3 . |

I have the following cameras:-
Fixed
Traffic light
Toll Road
Restricted speed
'Other' cams
Mobile cam hot spots
Average speed check
Bidirectional
Accident Blackspots
Ungated level crossing &
Mobile cameras.
Are yours different ?
Graham - and have you been offered an update to the Home 3 version....I was away for the last few days and I thought I saw something like that pop up on my laptop but could not do anyhting about it. _________________ Gee-Pee

I have Average speed check ones to, I was travelling near to Stafford and they have a set of roadworks on the M6 near there, with a speedlimit of 40mph but the cameras are Gatsos, with the lines on the motorway, 2 cameras in each direction with roadworks for about a mile each way. On the 1000 non of these cameras show up when driving past them in either directions, but when I was using the 950 it showed only 1 in either direction, these thou you can update via Home 2. (just to add pgws had both in each direction).
This brings me to the conclusion at the moment that the temp cameras are not updated over the air yet, and the fixed cameras are the ones that are installed with the unit. , so where with Home they are updated twice a week, there are no updates to the 1000 yet over the air as the person I spoke to said there were at Tom Tom.
Also the unit accepted my email and password details , but now like others have said I to have 3 subscriptions to live services ?
Regarding the update for home 3 I have not been offered any updates as of yet ? and I have told the home 3 to download beta versions but it has not offered anything yet. |

For some reason their database never have the cameras that cover both sides of the road , or have markings on both sides of the road ? I dont use their datebase but I have no choice at the mo.
I did put my partners tom tom against mine and I use the pgws dartabase on hers , and their database does miss a lot. |

Since the extra "Bloatware" was added to the European maps which came in at v850 for all TomTom devices the maps for all devices have the extra colours along with a few missing roads that used to be present on the v845 maps.
There is a newer map than the one loaded to the Go-1000 the issue is the fact they have no way to deliver it to your device - Mike |

My issue with “My Tom Tom” is that it doesn’t recognise that the 1k is connected.
Both the small tray icon on the computer and the main web page states “not connected”.
Tom Tom Support state that it is actually connected it just shows the wrong message !!
This latest release 3.0.1.125 has, to me, done no more than change the small tray icon to show “new items waiting for installation”, as does the Web Page, but it still does not recognise the unit is attached.
Um... Some urgent work to do here I think |

Make sure you have the latest Adobe Flash installed on your computer. It may help.
Also, there is an issue with XP systems whereby if there is a removal of the unit from the computer (unexpectedly), then the reconnection of the unit is not recognized.
A microsoft hotfix can be found here _________________ David |

I'm afraid we did warn you that these devices were not ready. Happy to put some Q's to TomTom but post them in the thread please. _________________ Darren Griffin |
