As you have placed an order for the unit complete with its single cable and plug in car charger unit I hope you don't drive a Volvo as the charger has the ability to eject itself from the Ciggy socket at the slightest bump on the road.

Mike:-

Oh no, this is disastrous !
What depths will you sink to to “sink” the product?
I understand that the cable colour clashes with the interior of a Nissan Micra – that’s it hopeless, cancel my order.
Have another glass of wine and chill

Laughing Now that is funny.

MikeA has owned and used most of not all TT's devices and it may not have escaped your notice that he is somewhat underwhelmed by this new range Wink

But it is getting a little silly now.

Perhaps we can all now pause and await the production units before we comment further?

Darren:-

I fully concur, let’s wait until we have the realised version and then make sensible, unemotional comments.

Hopefully this will be next week

Curious; as of 6pm Friday 1st Oct, 274 visits (views) and only 48 votes. Question
maybe people who have voted and are coming back to keep up to date?
Or it could be people like me, who have not got a TT, nor want one of any type, but are just mildly interested on what this poll is all about

Its a real shame I can't post the details of my tomtom 910 that was stolen last week from my motorhome in my back garden.
I have to be a member and pay. what a shame because I don't have a GPS anymore so paying to be a member will be pointless. Like this post really which will be removed because it is complaining.
It is a service to your members to provide a database of stolen GPS and so registering the item should be free, because I CAN'T claim on my insurance because of excess so its a nowin-nowin situation and one of your members may buy it now... COOL

The Stolen SatNav forum is here and is open to ALL forum members, not just subscribers.

If it were a standard type cable then there would be no issue but it's a proprietary connector with USB on the other end.

i thought they were Micro USB? the new 'standard' for mobile devices... or am I mistaken?

You're mistaken, GO1000 uses a proprietary connector that is much larger than MicroUSB.

You can see the connecter in this picture of the TMC accessory option:

They do offer an accessory Brodit style mount to screw to a Brodit Pro-Clip for the Go-1000 which uses a Mini USB, this also has a Line Out socket on the back of it - Mike

I hadn't see that before, that'd make for a much neater install for me.

Voting in the poll now seems to be closed as I could not place a vote but I would have voted for "I will consider an alternative model/brand"

As you can see, your post has not been removed - we can take this sort of complaint all day long, particularly when Darren posted a reply a mere six minutes later refuting your statement AND giving you a link to the topic wherein you can register your stolen device. By contrast, some 36 hours later you still haven't posted the details there.

You complain that we don't provide a service which we DO provide, but which you have not used. I fail to see any logic there. Rolling Eyes

I've had a brief look at a 1000 and it all looks very similar to the iPhone app.

No itineraries, no custom PoIs. Same slightly softer colours.
