|
|
TomTom have quietly launched yet another new business venture.
TomTom Assist is a roadside repair and recovery service open to all drivers but with an extra discount for TomTom customers.
It offers the usual list of benefits you would expect of a roadside repair and recovery service. There are three packages, Assist, Assist Plus and Assist Europe and prices ranging from £26 - £140, all run by Mondial Assistance.
A useful additional string to add to TomTom's bow or a further dilution of the core speciality?
For more information see www.tomtomassist.com.

Lets hope the recovery service do not use TomTom devices to find us..... The latest Postcode files STILL do not have my street/house number (Streets only 200 years old) |

And if a post by another member this week is anything to go by, don't break down on an unclassified road in the middle of nowhere as the call centres can't handle Lat/Lon locations! _________________ Darren Griffin |

I was offered a road side assist from TomTom 18 months ago on a promotion. The link does not work any more but was http://www.tomtompromotions.co.uk/assist
They use a company called Mondial Assistace (UK) Limited for that offer. |

Same as here, wonder why it's been kept so quiet? I haven't bothered to do any price comparisons, how does it stack up to AA,RAC, National Breakdown etc? _________________ Darren Griffin |

I did not take much notice Darren. My two cars still have the manufacturers cover and road side assistance. |

i presume it will be like Green Flag et al, rather than having their own fleet of vehicles they will simply get local garages etc to handle the lot?
or is that photo an actual 'assist' van that comes to rescue you?
