Darren, you said "we have dropped the price of our speed camera subscription to £16.99"
Spook was just pointing out that "officially" the Speed camera database is a free perk offered to people who have paid to subscribe to the website.
(for reasons you must know, but I can only guess at.... ) |

I wondered if Darren's change of emphasis was a policy change as somewhere in a thread a couple of months ago one of the Mods (I think) corrected another who also wrote of 'subscribing to the database' but never mind... |

Is that it? Crikey, slow day Snooks?
It was only ever sold in that way so we could add other services such as premium POIs etc to the package. Nothing more.
Of course, for most, the speed camera database is what they come for and to be honest, I've frequently described the sub as just that.
Can I get on with answering support tickets now from those looking to calim back £3 because they only renewed 6wks ago?
And yes, I have just had one that asked just that _________________ Darren Griffin |

Sorry if my comment may have seemed obtuse, it wasn't intentional. Have a restful weekend after you've ploughed through all those '£3 back please' support tickets. |

Not a problem, some light relief amid the moans'n'groans
Latest one is bemoaning how we could permit an auto-renewal to process 3 days ago when we must have known we'd be reducing the price.
Ignoring the fact that we decided yesterday, and the fact that we can't go cancelling recurring payments willy nilly, does ANY company give people notice that they are about to drop the price on something?
It's in the nature of offers such as this that some will miss out, that's how they work people! _________________ Darren Griffin |

Being a Lifetime member I feel it unfair that I am now saving only £16.99 and not £19.99. _________________ Formerly known as Lost_Property

That's great news, especially as my Doctor said I only have a month to live. _________________ Formerly known as Lost_Property

Not fair!
If someone only has a few months to live, that means that they've got a far higher percentage saving per annum than I get, if I live to a hundred.
Can you arrange for PayPal to send a ninja assassin round, to make it worth my while? |

From what I have read here, the more astute people will possibly renew now, as their latest renewal will be added to their present subscription period, and they will 'latch in' to the reduced rate. Or is there something wrong with this logic |

Well, there's the answer for Darren's three day renewal mob - renew again and this time next year the renewal will be only £16.99! _________________ Dennis

Have you a closing date for this offer? I was thinking of letting it run some of my days out first, say to beginning of December and then going for the offer, but of course this won't do me any good if the offer closes before I renew! |

We have committed to giving one-weeks notice ahead of the price going back up. So if you keep an eye (or receive the newsletter) you will be given ample notice. _________________ Darren Griffin |
