Why I do not know, perhaps because the data was so hopelessly poor and out of date!
I'd guess they will keep it running for existing customers until their subscription expires. |
I subscribed for 12 months & was later given another 12 months FOC so they'll have to keep supplying me till mid 2011 .... they'll probably just keep giving me the same information on the basis that I'll never know the difference |

I've had a response from Tomtom who say there is a temporary issue with tehir servers and they are giving it their highest priority !!! |
The Live update (via the sim on the device not via Tomtom home) is broken since nearly one month When you try to update via the device you would receive a message saying that you have "old map date".
When I contacted Tomtom about this a few weeks ago, they said that the problem would be fixed soon and that temporarely I should update using Tomtom Home,
Now also downloading via Tomtom Home is broken
What's strange is that they have just expanded the coverage of fuel prices to the new Live Countries since the middle of September (Italy, Spain, Austria, Luxemburg, Sweden, Finland, Denmark and Norway). Tested personally in Austria and Italy.
If their plan is to drop this service, why did they do so? |

Before we lost this feature ( only joking ) I had some strange device errors like you have to connect to Home to get the latest prices. I had only updated with Home the night before. I'am not that bothered about losing it as they are always wrong. It's just if you search for petrol stations you get the error as above so it needs sorting out. |

The issue with regards to the error message that you are receiving regarding installing your Fuel Price updates is currently being investigated by the developers.
This should be resolved in the near future, allowing you to download them again. For the time being however, please leave the Fuel Price updates unticked, when downloading your updates.
I would like to apologise for the inconvenience caused.
Please do not hesitate to let me know if you require any further assistance and I will be more than happy to help. |

Hi Suzanne, it's good to know that TomTom actually read the forum even if they don't take much notice of it, but welcome never the less and a couple of questions:-
Is it TomTom's intention to drop Fuel Prices as has been mentioned?
Why are the Fuel Prices still so woefully inaccurate?
Cheers |

Uh you have misunderstood, the post was simply a quote from an exchange with TT CS. Suzanne has not joined the forum _________________ Darren Griffin

The problem with Home does not need a developer to fix, it just needs some data to be put in the CAB file that is downloaded. _________________ Drivelux |

I wish I'd thought of that first but I was soooo excited at finding out that there really is someone in TomTom CS that I added 2 + 2 & made 5 |

Not when (accuracy of fuel prices apart) it works perfectly with the new Navcore - if it's the only one that does it must be worth millions!! |

this is the reply tomtom sent me regarding fuel prices
Hi this is Fred from TomTom Customer Support. Thank you for your patience while we work on the fuel prices issue. It seems the problem in not specific to your device. Over the past few days we have received a large number of calls regarding the fuel prices being Invalid. our team is working on this issue at our end and will hopefully have some new prices released soon. Please remove the current fuel price files from your device and computer in Manage My GO. And try the updates in a few weeks when hopefully they will be working.
Please don't hesitate to contact me with any further queries using the details at the base of this email. |
