Ford are offering a £299 dealer fit satnav that is incorporated into the rear-view mirror. The 3.5" display uses a Garmin navigation devices, can be fitted in under and hour and is classed as a fitted device for insurance purposes.
The solution could improve security with no tell-tale windscreen sucker marks etc. MirrorNavi features a tinted, dimming mirror glass plus 2D or 3D maps in full colour.
Could be a great solution for van drivers and with a memory card slot it should be compatible with our speed camera database.
More information from your Ford dealer.

The "more information" from my dealer was that it's £299 + fitting + VAT = £450
They tell me that it's a Garmin nüvi 1255T which can be bought for about £135 when it's not incorporated into a mirror.
Nice idea but a bit expensive for me. _________________ Paul |

Seems like a good idea but I bet it kicks off a spate of mirror thefts - and "fitted in under an hour..." good grief, what's a Ford Dealer's hourly rate these days? |

It seems to be about £80 + VAT per hour locally. _________________ Paul |

nice idea maybe but if you own or drive more than one vehicle you would need one in each and no option to take it for a walk in pedestrian mode. must say I personally will not be purchasing one.
not for me thanks |

Not much use in all the vans I get to drive at work.....All the back windows are blocked up, so a rear view mirror is useless !!!

Has anyone enquired if there's a Pink bezel for it?
I'm guessing it will free-up the cigar-lighter for the Hairdryer too! _________________ Driving a GO930 that thinks it's a Rider 3

Do van drivers actually use their rear view mirrors, even if the rear windows aren't blocked out? _________________ Tim |
