Hi Everybody,
I have a TT940 and have not updated as I have seen all the threads saying not to.
What I would like to know is what is different? Is there more functionality? I read somewhere about eco routes?
What am I holding my breath for? Those of you that have the latest Navcore update could you be so kind as to enlighten me.

This page list all the changes TT list for each Navcore. Note they seem to vary from model range to model range.
Some people maybe after the latest version for the new graphics or maybe they are waiting to see if a specific bug has been fixed (phone compatibility etc) |

Hi Paul,
thanks for your reply, does not look like there are any eco routes,

Don't worry about it. Tomtom will never fix it for the x40 models. If they could, they would have done so by now. You won't be getting it. |

Seamaster, with respect, you are talking rubbish.
Ever since this problem with v9 on the x40 models you have been banging on, complaining about how long it is taking to sort out, and now you're saying it won't get fixed at all.
I've seen the fix, it works; but there are some other issues to sort out before they release it. For once they seem to want to get it right first to avoid people complaining again about other bugs. |

Hmmm... I would take TomTom's list with a large pinch of salt. They tend to mention bug fixes rather then feature changes.
"Eco Routing" IS featured. (Though to be honest, it doesn't seem to produce radically different routes from "Fastest" so far as I can see). |

Thanks for that - I was wondering what had happened to it. Could you mention it in the main thread? |

Just to add to this, having updated my 740 successfully, it really is nicer in the user interface, and uses "transitions" to switch between screens. This makes it more visually interesting. I think the "harder press" is perhaps just that you have to hold a little longer, presumably to stop accidental taps. Overall quite nice. |

Considering the processor in the device is now working harder in order to produce these menu transitions (death by MS Power Point springs to mind) there will be less of the processor power available to detect and react to the menu selections resulting in a device that "feels" more sluggish - Mike |

Hi Matthew,
how did you get it to install properly on your 740? Or is it just the 940 that has problems?
Or is it that you do not subscribe to the Live services?
thanks in advance,

Sorry Mathewj...
I deleted your post by accident instead of posting mine
His message read....
Quote: | @sdm197 - have a look at the other threads - the fixed version came out yesterday.
As for the extra processor usage for the effects, I think it may actually help with navigation as there will be less tendency to tap the screen again and "pre-select" an item on the next screen. |

I took the plunge and updated my 740Live and the one thing which appears to be missing is the battery charging indicator; now there is only a tiny symbol permanently on the screen, but only when operating on battery power. Satellite lock taking no longer than before but appears to be more sensitive in that I can now get a lock indoors whereas before I had to go into the garden to get a fix! |

Fair enough. Better late than never (as I always say when HD Traffic fails to report a road closure). |
