HTC Desire wayyyy cheaper, just as good if not bettter than an iphone. It just doesn't have the apple fanboy approval.
I'm surprised they haven't put a larger screen in, 3.7' plus is becoming the standard now. |

i use both android and iphone on a regular basis and have to say the iphone os is far superior. much easier to use and user-friendly. admittedly android is more open and allows lots of customisation and fiddling about, but remember in the end, it is a phone and the majority of users want a phone that is simple to use!

Worth remembering that the preferred OS is a personal preference thing |

No it's not 'just as good' - if it was everyone would be buying it instead of the iPhone. It certainly comes close, but Android has a very "home made" feeling to it compared to iOS 4. Apps all look different to each other and work in different ways - its very messy. The Android Market doesn't even compare to the iPhone's App store. I've used both phones and I was prepared to pay the extra money to get an iPhone 4. The "Apple Fanboy" factor you mentioned is nothing to do with it - I'm a PC user and I really don't like Apple or their closed architecture at all but the iPhone simply *is* a better phone in it's own right. I honestly wish Google had made it - but they didn't. Undoubtedly within a year or so Android will have come so close that more people will switch, but currently it's just not as good and that's why the iPhone is outselling it. As MaFt says, the iPhone is really easy to use and configure. Everything just works - and that's what's selling it. |

Well as i always buy a Hard Case every time i have purchased and iPhone, when i got my iphone 4 on launch day I immediately put a case on it, so i have never suffered or noticed from the signal/reception issue _________________ --

I seem to be able to hold my Nokia 6021 pretty much any old how, and still be able to talk to people. After all, that's what I want a phone for (and to bluetooth to my HFT in my car) |

I can and do. Not had any problems with it so far, indeed I spent 2 hours on the phone on the day of the launch without realising there was any issue. I suspect this may well be overblown somewhat...
The funny thing about all this is that Apple claim there is only minimal drop in signal strength as with all phones. They say it is a software issue in the way they calculate the bars... Not sure I am convinced by that, but I can say that I haven't had any issues.

and you are basing that comment on what???
It does sound a little suspicious, but as none of us have access to the facts it is all speculation. :D _________________ Mike Barrett |
