We still don't have any new updates regarding the Western & Central Europe v8.50 for our high end devices. Customers who have a Map Update Service and are eligible for this map will still get this map even if their service expires before the release.

I have a referb 930.

After updating Navcore, I used the LMG to update my US map to 8.50
It is offering me W&CE 8.45 but I have not downloaded it. Do you think I will be offered 8.50 when it is released?

Well that's a good question. TT has already said they will honour the map subscription even if 850 falls outside the expiry date. So what about an LMG that would have got a version 850 if it had been issued in time?

Not sure 850 will show any new roads compared to 845, but the UK/RoI map was a little larger and probably reflects more map information added, than roads added.

I wonder what the difference between the iPhone Western_Europe map supplied with the v1,4 recent update and the v850 map for the PND units, apart from the ASR files I wouldn't have thought them much different for anything else and they have been released for over a week...... - Mike

Response from TT support on when we can expect new map.....

Discussion Thread
Response (xxx(UK)) 30/06/2010
Hello xxx,

It will most likely be released next month, but when exactly I do not know.

As stated, as soon as the map is released TomTom will be sending out another e-mail to update you.

Again, our apologies for the wait, our Map Development Team is working on this matter as we speak.

With Best Regards

xxxxx

About the same as the response I got:

You are indeed right, the new map was to be released in the end of June. According to the latest information, this will be delayed by a few days, until the map is finalised to meet your expectations. By subscribing to the Map Update service you are entitled to 4 map updates (1 map every approximately 3 months). If there is a delay, this does not mean that you lose one of your maps, so you will still receive 4 new maps. Please try to search for updates again after a few days and the new map shall become available for download. May we apologise for any inconvenience caused.

It's nice that they put the kisses at the end. Quite friendly and more than makes up for the late map delivery ;)
