tinkering with stuff I shouldn't (even tho' i'm 33..) I've deleted files off my father's Garmin Nuvi 200w.....when i turn it on now it says the following....
"loading maps"
then about 5 seconds later this message....
"No detailed maps found that support routing. The nuvi cannot be used without them."
Any ideas???
i'd be soooooo greatful if anyone could offer some help
cheers
Matt

you could, perhaps, restore the files from the back up you made before deleting stuff?
basically it sounds like you've either deleted the map files or the 'key' that allows them to be used.
you may need to call garmin to see what they suggest

Before you do anything else, try running Recuva on it - make sure you deselect the bloatware options (Ask search bar etc) when installing it, and enable deep scan from the options. |

I have a backup of the 200W nuvi so this is what you should have on there
