What anti virus are you using? Have you tried disabling it whilst downloading?
Also are you connected to your router wirelessly or via Ethernet cable? |

Using AVG paid for, but I can't see that is ths issue, since all the temp files are inplace, and the map temp grows to just over a gig before Home reports the timeout error. Connected by cable, and it's worked on this set up for every other map update.... _________________ Larry Botheras

Try disabling the AVG. It's possible that once the file is being constructed AVG is attempting to scan the 1.1 GB file hence the time out.
I had similar problems before with my AV (ESET NOD32). With it enabled the map downloads and then the PC sets there for ages doing "nothing". On average it fails 3 out of 4 times. With the AV disabled it downloads and then immediately starts loading the map with no problems every time. |

Shouldn't be surprised though. I can't see they can build any richer detail etc. into the bigger maps as people with the regional versions would cry foul surely.
Reading between the lines they're having 'pruning' problems, as may have already been mentioned. |
Maybe they're having to re-write a new navcore version to handle this "richer" detail? _________________ HTC Desire S - Vodafone

Over the new detail, I would have thought that if there was new detail in the W&CE maps it would have shown up in the regional maps as well? I have not yet noticed any difference in the UK&I 850 maps. _________________ Drivelux |

There's no way of searching for "the `Cockpit Island `area of Derby". If you can give us something more precise to check, like a road or a junction that's changed, I'd be happy to do so. _________________ Anita

Is THIS where you mean..
The junction of the B6000 (Station Approach) and the A601 Traffic Street??
Amazing what a quick search on Google Maps throws up!! _________________ XL LIVE IQ Routes (Europe)

Yes.thats it. Looking at the satalite image its the old layout but if you go onto street view its the new one(while under construction).
If you go onto the Navteq web site they`ve got the layout as it is now ....One way streets, new roads, etc ,etc...... |
