Hi all,
I just updated my tomtom xl iq routes navvy from the tomtom home website,I now cannot use it as its saying the following:
Problem with map,You cannot use this map on this device:United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland-166
Could someone please advise me on how to resolve this problem,I have always updated regularly but never had this problem before,
Regards..Nad. |

Have you updated to the latest application for your unit? (Is an update offered using Home?)
When you look at the contents of the specific map folder on your unit, do you see a file with the name (mapname).meta.dct?
Can you try a reset on the unit (hold the power button for about 20 seconds)? _________________ David |

dhn meant, is the TomTom using the latest NavCore? Nothing to do with the version of TT Home.
Is you run TT Home and run the update option ("Update my XL"??) are there any updates you haven't installed? |

I have ran all the updates which were needed but still the same prob...it just will not let me use the map as stated in my first post...I have emailed tomtom for help..
The thing is I have never had this prob before, the map it downloaded is 185.9MB which I must admit I felt was a huge update compared to the updates I have done since I`ve had the device.

I got the same last night on my XL Live IQ Routes so had to copy back the old map folder (glad I took a back up before updating).
I assumed it was something to do with them transferring my quarterly map update service from a different device & TTH account last week but I may be wrong. I, like you, have updated it once before, just a couple of weeks ago when I first got the device but that was before I transferred the device and quarterly map updates to a new account.
Have you done anything like this? What's the history of your account with TomTom and devices held against it?
The message sounds like some sort of activation / copy protection issue. |

Are you saying you have not changed your device or your account with TomTom recently and you have had these map updates before on this same device and same account? |

It's a shame TTH does not prompt users to do a back up before installing important updates such as new maps. |

TTCS are telling me that it indicates it did not download properly. They suggest using the Manage My Device Option to remove the map from both the device and your computer then add it back again. It's not worked for me and my phone call is now reaching 35 mins |

Ok now the story is that when they transferred the map update service to my new device they set it up with the wrong map i.e. one without TTS when my device has TTS. Am now waiting for them to sort it and call me back.
