|

This weeks speed camera update seems to have lost some of the variable speed cameras between junctions 3A and 9. I've checked the speed camera database page and more of the cameras are shown as dummies than used to be. So just wanted to check that the cameras that were working are now dummies and not a mistake. |

yes, our "M42 Man" has been monitoring the cameras for the last 6 months. We suspected they were dummies but wanted to make sure first. We're now happy that they are dummies and have been marked as such.

Not wishing to give away any state secrets, but the cams in question work on radar, and althoug illegal, radar detectors are available |

Are they?
I know the (UK) government were intending to make them illegal, but I didn't think they had got round to doing it. |

they're not illegal in teh uk... yet... from memory they were supposed to be changing the law to specifically illegalise them but i don't think that has actually happened yet.
