Just bought a new Garmin 1310 with CN EUROPE NT 2010.10 map on it, when i start the Garmin up it tells me that there are new updates available via the Garmin website, should i update it and use my free update or should i wait longer before i register and use my free update as the maps i currently have are quite new anyway?? cheers for any advice given. There is not another map due for a couple of months or so, you are probably best to update now I would say. |

Hi Guys, is it easy to D/L the updates?
Just bought the 1310 and heard horrendous stories of dodgy Garmin software.
Recently had two different Nuvi 265's, BOTH had to go back as they would not download and their service dept just said "send it back"
Now having a go at the 1310, works great in the car but frightened of hooking it up to the PC.
Make me feel better guys.........please. _________________ VEGETARIAN

Hi Chippychap to be honest i have still not updated my maps yet as ive been to busy with work etc, i would recommend that you make a thread asking the question m8 as people probably do not read this thread now as ive had my querie sorted but remember you only have 60 days to update from first switching your 1310 on so you got nothing to lose m8, you mite aswell just give it a try an get your free update. im gonna do mine over the weekend when i get the time. fingers crossed we both have a smooth ride. peace |

Chippy, took me 3 attempts to update. According to Garmin you should update the device software using their Webupdater program before downloading the map update to your Nuvi.
Once I did that it worked fine. |

Hi CJ, I finished it at 4 o-clock this Morning.
Connected it to my PC at 5 yesterday afternoon, said it might take up to an hour.
I've now updated the software and the maps.....PHEW!
I was worried about leaving it unattended but didn't want to disconnect it mid-stream.
Anyway, job is now jobbed.
It looks a nifty bit o' kit and I'm still playing rude games with its feature of reading out the name of your destination.
Take care CJ _________________ VEGETARIAN

TBH whatever is on the models sold by anyone is irrelevant.
As soon as you buy one it will be updated to an up to date set of maps etc. _________________ VEGETARIAN
