|
Here we go. On purchasing my 750GoLive I decided to pay for the LMSG as they had an offer on that made it a more attractive offer for me.
Using TT Home when I check for the latest map, I was informed that I had the latest one. However, when I tried the same on Saturday (15/5) it said my LMSG had expired!!
Do TT not get anything right? I am just getting over the "Free 12month Subs. to Live Services" fiasco!
Is it time to call TT CS again? or is there an alternative?
Thanks. _________________ Cracking Toast Gromit!

LMG (Latest Map Guarantee) is FREE - you shouldn't have paid for it?! It simply means that when you first use your new device you have 30 days to download the latest map. I.e. TomTom guarantee that your new device will have the latest maps. You used your guarantee and so it has no expired.
Perhaps you are confusing it with the annual map updates where you get 6 map updates over 18 months? In which case you will get an email when a new map is available and then you can download that using Home.

DOH! Thank you for clearing that up. I assumed that the LMSG was what I had paid for.
I will sit back and wait for the email when a new map is released.
Appologies to TT on this occasion too!
Thanks. _________________ Cracking Toast Gromit!

I got a false alarm yesterday for my Map Update Service - when I turned on my XL Live (which has the latest map v845), it gave a screen message saying a new map is available, connect to PC and go get it. But when I got there, nothing!
As the next new map is just about due, I fancy I happened to pick up on somebody at TomTom testing the message to Live users ready for it to be issued "soon". But I can't be bothered to ask them why I got the message yesterday. I'll just keep looking every day from now on. _________________ Dennis

That's why I was concerned, falsely as it happens, as I had heard on PGPSW that new maps are to be released very soon.
If I understanded you correctly, Dennis, I will get an alert on my device when a new map is available? _________________ Cracking Toast Gromit!

Oooo! Don't take my word for it. I have some vague recollection that perhaps I got one last time. I certainly got one yesterday. But I'm very old and unreliable, especially when I forget to take my tablets. But you'll get an email. _________________ Dennis

Many a good tune played on an old fiddle, Dennis.
I am always learning new things here. Trouble is, will I remember them after I have slept?
Cheers. _________________ Cracking Toast Gromit!

You'll get upto 3 alerts when the map is released.
1. TomTom Home will tell you when you plug in for an update.
2. You'll get an email from TomTOm about 6 weeks after the map is released.
3. There will be a thread on PGPSW telling everyone.... |

Re "LSMG"....
Just to avoid any confusion if you *do* have to contact TomTom for any reason, there are three things about maps:
The Latest Map Guarantee (LMG) - a free one-off map download to ensure you have the most up to date map available after you buy a new TomTom.
MapShare (MS?) - the free sharing service where you make corrections to the maps and download other people's.
Map Subscription Service (MSS?) - the paid-for deal, where you get an update to the latest map and then subscribe to four or more new maps which are made available for you to download as soon as they become available.
I've only ever seen the first set of initials used widely, and I don't think "LSMG" exists |

Yes it does - Wendolene just created it and she (?) is obviously an innovative person with good taste in fillums. _________________ Dennis
