|
|
Since the last update, my alerts are now giving 3 warnings for everything. All alerts are there but, say I aproach a fixed camera I get 3 "bongs" and voice alerts in quick succession.
I have not changed any settings in Camera Manager or my Kenwood DNX9240BT.
Any Ideas? |

The alerts and their timings are controlled by the software in your unit.
Unless you have somehow doubled or trebled up the database on the unit it's out of PGPSW control. |

Actualy the Ash's Camera Manager seems to control the timings and alerts, the Kenwood is Garmin based.
I can change the units software to have single or continuious alerts, but that is all, Camera Manager has been doing the other controls before I use POI loader to put the files onto the SD card.
As I said it used to work fine until the last update.
I will re-download and try a fresh install. |

Actually Camera Manager controls the distance / timing at which the alerts start. The unit software controls how many alerts you get and how often, which is what i thought the problem was from your opening post.

No mention that they started earlier or later...

The database from PGPSW has no influence over how many alerts you get. It's just a database of locations. Once the data goes through Camera Manager the data is manipulated further but again the output has no direct influence over the number of alerts you get. If you set a longer alert distance then you'll get more alerts but the number and timing is still down to the unit software.
How many GPI files are there in the POI folder on the unit? |

Hi PaulB2005,
I have only One .GPI file on the SD card which I load into the Kenwood unit.
I always say "overwrite" when it asks to copy POI, I will try to work out a way of seeing if the Kenwood is holding on to old POI databases.
Thanks |

There was a thread last week where for some reason a Nuvi unit was being updated with multiple databases becuase the owner still had old copies in his recycle bin. Some sort of file protection system.
Have you got any old copies of the database in your recycle bin? |
