|
|
Is it possible to dissable the auto power down process that my 550 has when it is connected to my PC?
The reason I ask is that I have a USB port in my car and it will be much more convient and tidy if i can plug my TomTom in via the USB port rather than the Aux socket. I have tried plugging the device in on the car's USB port and it continues to power (well, power LED lights up) but it automaticly shuts down everytime after a few min.
Can't see anything in the device settings, does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks,

Use Notepad to create a new file with just a "1" in it (without the "") save the file as "noautosuspend.dat" then copy it straight to the device (no "" in the file name), drop the file straight on to the drive letter associated with your device using Windows Explorer - Mike |

Well !!, thanks for that Mike.
Been something that's been bugging me as well, but never thought to ask
Thought it was a 'given' so to speak.
Will it work with my TT720??

I know this is the wrong title ,but here goes:-
Is there a similar software instruction to turn the Go720 on when power is connected via the usb connector? _________________ Jonial

The Go-x10 devices certainly did this but due to issues with the mount TomTom removed the auto power on/ off and despite many requests to reinstate this functionality on the newer products they don't listen - Nobody has found a hack/ work around to enable it either so I am afraid you are stuck with it - Mike |

Hi Mike
Thanks for the answer, which was as I expected.
I did have a G0710 and I can't now remember quite how it was done but you could get the Go to turn on and off with the ignition which was very useful. _________________ Jonial

With a 710 you would need a Navcore release prior to 6,51 to get the auto on/ off working again, once 6,51 was rolled out which was needed for the FM Transmitter mount and RDS-TMC receiver support the auto on feature disapeared and hasn't been seen since! (I do still have a couple of 910 Navcores on this PC that are pre 6,51 but no 910 to run it on as it burnt out) - Mike |

The latest 910 software still supports the auto on/off function on the standard mount. (v7.903). _________________ Richard
