|
|
Hi
I have a PDA running TTN6 via SD card . I have downloaded some POI files from Pocket GPS .
I selected "UK" , TomTom (OV2), then selected a couple of sub catogories in the "Association" selection . checked "Combine subcategories into category file" & finally clicked "Download"
Saved the file in My Documents then Unzipped the file . Openned the resulting file & copied & pasted to the SD card in the file marked "GB_plus_major_roads_of_WE"
When I then run TTN 6 on my PDA I can find no trace of the POI's I have added .
Where am I going wrong please ? Never done this before so I suspect it is "user error !" |

Presume you meant Openned the resulting file & copied & pasted to the SD card in the folder marked "GB_plus_major_roads_of_WE", which is the correct procedure _________________ Moto G5s Plus, Sygic 17.4.8 |

If you "Explore" the Card, can you see the file in the GB Folder?
Can you see them if you use Navigate to ...., Point of interest, Association?
It's been some time, and I can't remember if there are any differences between the Navigator and the GO menus. _________________ Richard

Do you have more than one GB Map?
If yes, have you put them in the Map Folder that you are currently using? _________________ Richard

Colin,I wasnt critising you just verifying. I am also a bit rusty on v6 but there is no poi association in vers 6, but have you enabled them in the POI menu and checked whether on route or not, apart from that you seem be doing everything correct. _________________ Moto G5s Plus, Sygic 17.4.8 |

Only one GB map so at I cannot get that wrong
They will not appear in the "enable POI" menu even though they are in the folder on the card with all the other POI files .
Have even tried a hard reset of my PDA but they will still not appear.
Hey ho at least I still have the mapping |

I dont suppose you also have a map installed on the internal memory and its picking this up instead of card, its a long shot but cant offer any other reason, is the card set to read only although cant see this being problem. _________________ Moto G5s Plus, Sygic 17.4.8 |

Have searched files & cannot find the maps on the device only on the SD card . have also just tried locking/unlocking the card by the little lever/switch on the side ( I assume this is what you meant ?) but no difference . |

Not sure what's happening so this is just thinking out loud...
Have you installed any other 3rd party POIs to the PDA (from PGPSW or elsewhere) and do these work OK? That is any POI sets that are not in-built - the .ov2 files.
Try downloading and installing ONE poi set - any, it's just to test. I'm wondering if your download has gone wrong or got corrupted somewhere. _________________ Gerry

One other thought. How many OV2 files are there in the Map Folder?
It used to be quite low in earlier versions. IIRC at one time as low as 27!! _________________ Richard

TTN5,x had very low custom POI support, with TTN6 the custom POI category limit was raised to 100, that said it was (and still is) easy to exceed this value if you are not aware of it - Count up the number of files ending .ov2 in your map folder - Mike |
