At present I have a 720 and really do like the range and from what I can gather the latest 750 is not that great a system + it has been out for a while now
I have looked in to getting an iphone but just for using it as a satnav is a very expensive option in my book ,so is there any idea as to when the next version of tomtom 760 I presume will be released as my 720 is really on it's last legs
thanks _________________ TomTom 5001 |

The current 750 is listed on TT website at £250.
I've just upgraded my phone to an iPhone (by being rude and insistent to Vodafone) and it's costing me £89 for the phone then £35 a month contract. My existing contract was the same monthly (albeit I had a temporary "deal" reducing it to £17.50).
So technically I upgraded to an iPhone for one third of the price of a new 750. _________________ Dennis

I am toying with the idea of upgrading ,but if a new version is say 6/9 months away I will wait till it comes out .... just surveying my options as an I phone is to expensive at £25 a month for 100 minutes ,I might be lucky to use 100 minutes in a year _________________ TomTom 5001 |

As I just wrote in another forum, I can't cope with the iPhone's awful keypad and have gone back to my old Nokia so, if you want to go down the smart phone route, I'd advise you to give one a good try first. Especially if you do a lot of texting. _________________ TT Go Essential |

Some magazine did comparisson of various phones with 'proper' keypad and those with touch screen versions.
In all cases the touch screen versions were slower by about 50%. Same message on proper keypad was about 2 minutes and 3 on touch screen.
Also more mistakes were made with touch screen. Have tried touch screen and the virtual keypad was a problem and also went back to 'proper' one. |
