Help with TT3 and CheckPOInt 2.02

I have Tom Tom 3 installed on my Navman Pin and am just starting to play around with CheckPOInt 2.02.
For a test I downloaded the POI file for Shell Petrol stations and put the two files into the map folder on my PDA.
Now, what I would like to know if if I can search a particular area for one of the POI's (Shell Petrol Station in this instance) and then route directly to it ?
Or does it simply work by placing an icon on screen when you drive nearby? ie no routeing or searching for it.

Yes you can on TTN3, just go into the Navigate option, select POI then more, and choose a POI.
