|
|
Dear All,
I have a new 950 live and am extremely surprised at how slow the map moves as I drive (especially in 3d view). If I turn a corner and there is another corner soon afterwards, the machine lags behind making it difficult to follow. Is this normal for Tomtoms? I would think that they should be powerful enough to be able to scroll smoothly.
My cheap old Garmin keeps up perfectly...
I have tried turning off streetnames etc. but this does not seem to help.
Any other ideas?
Cheers

Slow screen response time on a tomtom is often caused by having a large number of points of interest displayed on the map.
Go to "Manage Points of Interest" and turn off the "Display POI on map" for each point of interest category. Sorry I don't have my tomtom with me at the moment so these instuctions are from memory.
Let us know if this fixes the problem. _________________ Paul |

How many POIs do you have showing on the screen?
Try turning them off and see if it improves. Then just switch on the 6 or so you really need. |

If you mean the camera POI's then it is not necessary to have them selected for display on screen. As long as you select "Warn when near" then they will display on the screen at the appropriate time without slowing down the map display. _________________ Paul |
