While this subject has been raised. Is there a way of doing your own TTS directions? |

I wouldn't think so!
Companies like Loquendo and Cepstral, spend a fortune developing and marketing their wares. The SatNav companies tend to buy in the technology and it comes with heavy limitations on what they can do with it.
For example, the TomTom TTS voices cannot be used while you are using the on-screen PC emulator. |

You cannot change the TTS voice, but you can change what it says. If you are tired or hearing "Recalculate...", you can change it to anything you want. The same applies to all other TTS prompts.
Just download TTSVoiceEditor. You will find the link to this tools and all other POI/Voice tools in my singature. Just click on it.
Best regards,

I just made an update to TTSVoiceEditor.
What's new in v2.90:
- Fixed an issue with new British Emily v2.40.
Link and information in post #1 are still good. Enjoy! _________________ Latest RGN_Tool, GIR_Editor, Extra_POI_Editor and other Garmin tools: Click HERE |

Look good!
You couldn't be encouraged to do something similar for TomTom TTS voices, could you?
(Also, is there any chance you could re-jig the large image in post #!? Its breaking the forum page format (and therefore the forum rules too!)) _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

Well, I already did it 2 years ago. I even bought a cheap TT One XL-S to test it, but it never worked. For some reasons, the file containing the TTS text strings was not used by the GPS. There may be other files elsewhere, but I never found them.
I tried twice over time to make this work without success. Maybe I am not trying hard enought... ! If you find the strings somewhere let me know and I'll try again.
I worked on the Vocalizer speech engine. I know TT uses Loquendo as well. If you find something, let me know. _________________ Latest RGN_Tool, GIR_Editor, Extra_POI_Editor and other Garmin tools: Click HERE |
