Check to see if you have a folder called "zip" on the TomTom.
If not, then yes.
If it is there, and has (at least) a file called "Great_Britain.postal" then the problem lies elsewhere. |

In that case you DO need the postcode files mentioned in this thread. Download the 2 files to a folder called zip on your tomtom.
That will give you full postcode results!

Yeah the postcodes don't get updated through home. I have suggested it to them as an improvement!
Glad this thread has helped though

Hi can someone tell me what these postcodes are?
I have TT XL IQ. Are these updated post codes that I should be downloading? |

They will be fine on the One XL just download the files from the link on the front page of this thread, unzip it and copy the files (NOT folder) to the zip folder on your device - Mike |

Only if they are newer than the ones you have already....
You can check your current version of postcodes in two ways:
1. in TT Home, go to "Manage my XL" (on page 2 of the main menu), then on the "items on device" tab tap the plus sign next to the Postcodes section. Where it says "Great Britain, click on "More info" to see the version number.
2. Using Windows Explorer, browse to the "zip" folder on the XL and open the Great_BritainPostal.ver file with Notepad (or any text editor). That will also show you the version number. |

The same link gets you 845 postcodes now - this has been updated today.
Looks like another amendment needed to the thread title! |

Consider it done and I will add a link to the v845 map release thread as TomTom Home isn't clever enough to do this one for you! Thanks for the heads up - Mike |

How do you mean exactly?
Is it that certain postcodes are missing, or that it sends you to the wrong place on a postcode search, or something else?
You say actual ADDRESSES go missing? |
