Go here:
C:\Documents and Settings\yourname\My Documents\TomTom\HOME\Downloads\complete\ephemeris
and delete an sub-folders you see there. Now, on your unit, delete anything in the ephem folder.
Connect to Home and you should get a new gpsquickfix file. _________________ David |

tried the advice but to no avail. there was no ephemeris or 'complete' folders in my c:/ tomtom folder.
tried just deleting contents of ephem folder on my unit but it made no difference. tomtom HOME still will not offer me gps quickfix download option.
i am using vista home premium and have enabkled the viewing of hidden files and folders etc?
any other suggestions please? |

How about doing a folder search, Im using XP so dont know how it works on Vista
Search for ephemeris... it should bring lots of files and one folder ephemeris
Open the ephemeris folder should contain folders called QuickGPSfix maybe more than one followed by a number, delete all these then connect TomTom again it should update the quickfix position when you start home. |

I thought GPSQuickFix only updated every few days. I don't get an update every time I connect. I understood that each update would contain a few days satellite positions and would renew itself when the previous data expired.
I could have got it wrong though _________________ Mike

Every now and then mine wont update
I only connect mine once a week anyway so expect an update when I connect my TomTom to the pc.
I assume something in TomTom Home must have failed so deleting these files makes it work again |

The method works but why hasn't TomTom fixed this? Really annoying to delete folders and reconnect everytime I start up HOME |
