I have a 530 and have just got a memory card so that I can download the North American maps from TomTom but before I do I just want to check what to do with the UK maps. Should I just leave them where they are or move them to the card? If so do I just move the United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland and contents or is there a better way? _________________ Andyfr |

Leave everything as it is in the internal memory and just download/instal the new map (folder) to the SD card then you can just Manage Maps/Switch Maps willy nilly. |

If you do that and are using the PGPSW speed camera database, make sure you update the cameras on the map you have selected

Sound advice, but if you do install the speed cameras to both maps make sure you also configure the warn when near POI option for the Camera files for both maps:
Change Preferences/ Manage Maps/ Switch Map
Select the map you need:
Change Preferences/ Manage POI/ Warn When Near POI
Configure all Speed Camera POI warnings, then repeat the above for the other map folder - Mike |

Also... be aware that the latest cock-up (sorry "version") of Home, might try to install the new map to BOTH the memory card and the internal memory, irrespective of which you choose when you first connect.
If it does that, it will fail with an "out of space" message.
I believe one way round it would be to temporarily copy the system files (the ones not in any folder) onto the card and then put it in a card reader rather then the TomTom to do the download and install. Home should react just as if the actual Go was connected. |

I managed to download to the card last night, took one and a half hours though! _________________ Andyfr |
